MARGAUX ZANI
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
My interest in JrP stems from my passion for political science and psychology, as well as my belief that education shapes the core beliefs and questions we explore as we grow. This year, we aim to develop a new program on information and social media. As the world becomes more polarized and extremes rise everywhere, it is crucial to educate the younger generation about the biases in the content they consume online – more specifically on social media – and in news articles. Such a program would allow us to teach them how to critically approach what they read.
I believe JrP is important because it introduces younger generations to the political structure of the world in ways that differ from their traditional school curriculum. In addition, JrP provides students who are interested in education and academic program development the opportunity to have a direct experience in teaching practices.
I love reading books, though my very specific tastes often annoy librarians. My Favorite place in Montreal is a secret spot on Mont Royal (I will not disclose the location, it is all yours to discover)
