How can I enroll my class in Jr. Peacemakers?

We’re excited to work with you! Go to Get Involved at the top of this screen and send us an e-mail or Facebook message!

When can I count on hearing back from you about volunteers for the semester?

We will ensure that your class will be receiving volunteers 2-3 weeks before the program is set to begin. If you have any concerns please follow up with us via email.

I want to volunteer, do I absolutely need to be trained?

In short, yes! Teaching our curriculum to a classroom of kids may appear to be simple, however, our training session is important to familiarize you with our values, and curriculum, and additionally take you through scenarios with volunteers you could be paired with! You only need to attend a training session once. :)

How is Jr. Peacemakers funded?

Jr. Peacemakers is part of a larger organization named IRSAM, International Relations Students’ Association of McGill University. IRSAM boasts a membership of 300 + students who are passionate about leadership and being part of the change. Through this organization and the events it organizes, it can give back to the program to ensure it remains without cost.

What is the cost of the program?

One of the core values Jr. Peacemakers champions is accessibility. Naturally, the program is free of charge. Because we are a Non-Governmental Organization, all the hours, and work that is put in by the Coordinators and the volunteers comes from their own time and showcases the dedication they bring to this cause. Additionally, all the material used during the activities is provided by the program.
