Daniela Lacaria - Vice President & Program Team Manager

Junior Peacemakers is a student-run NGO that aims to nurture values of global citizenship and foster youth activism. Our primary focus is on encouraging elementary and middle school students to make a difference in their community by inspiring a sense of global awareness through fun, interactive activities, and discussions. I believe JRP is such an integral program for students and volunteers. The immersive and engaging program gives student the tools to explore ways they can make impactful change. I will always admire this program and i’m excited to work on integrating new and transformative ways the program can continue to create change and be sustainable in the long term. Getting involved with JRP is such a rewarding experience, and I highly encourage anyone interested to get involved!

Ioanna Tzima - Volunteer Coordinator (EN)

Having been a volunteer with Junior Peacemakers during previous semesters, I was very excited to take up a position of responsibility as a way to give back to an organization that gave so much to me and taught me incredible things. Interacting with children and discussing paramount topics to today’s global society is in itself a very interesting and rewarding experience. Given however the globally trying circumstances, I am happy to take the opportunity and collaborate with the rest of the coordinators’ team in order to enhance the JPR repertoire and syllabus, offering more to children, students, and volunteers alike for when the program restarts.

Jade Cizeau-Zeeni - Volunteer Coordinator (FR)

I joined JrP because I was very inspired by the idea of teaching the future generation about global citizenship and to raise awareness on human rights, and I believe initiating young children to have a positive impact on their community will empower them to be activists and to act for positive change

Megan Waters - School Coordinator (EN)

I have been volunteering for Junior Peacemakers for the past 2 years, and have enjoyed educating grade school children about important political issues. JRP is such an important outreach program and I so excited to be volunteering again

Thaïs Sawko - School Coordinator (FR)

Although today's education system brings broad academic knowledge, I've always thought it was a shame we weren't educated on what it means to live in our world and what responsibilities we have as citizens of our planet. I joined JrP to be able to bring this less "academic" course to the future generation.

Hanaya Merlet - Head of Academics

Volunteering for JRP has been such a rewarding experience. Forming connections with classrooms full of bright and talkative students from all over Canada has always been a major highlight of my semesters at McGill. This year, I look forward to working on more inclusive and relevant content with the rest of my team and to hear feedback from volunteers, the team, and schools.

Tess Brograd - English Content Creator

I joined JRP because I believe it is important to raise awareness about global issues for the next generation to have the tools to navigate the challenges ahead and become strong leaders.

Malak Afifi - French Content Creator

One of my favourite things about JrP is getting to teach younger students about some of the biggest world issues we’re facing today all while working with an incredible team!

Youth activism is important because our communities, both local and global, only get better when people care about them! It's important that young people know how to speak their mind on topics they care about in order to make the world a kinder and brighter place.

Angelika Premuzic - Events Coordinator

As Events Coordinator I am beyond excited to broaden the scope of impact that Jrp has on young change makers today! This year Jrp is placing a greater emphasis on sustainability and its implications for the future. I look forward to organizing initiatives that involve the McGill community in Jrp's ongoing projects and inspiring students to take action

Taarini Andlay - Academic Content Coordinator

I decided to join JRP because I wanted to do my bit in educating children about global issues and empowering them with the necessary knowledge and tools to address them
