Claire is a U3 International Development Studies student from Toronto, Canada. Claire has been dedicated to Junior Peacemakers since 2017 and in her third year of leading the team and organization.

When it comes to global and local issues, “Equal access to education, healthcare and other basic human needs is an issue I am very passionate about promoting. It is paramount to understand the causes of inequitable access, both globally and locally, in order to stop the perpetuation of inequity and create a better and brighter future for all.”

Jordan is a U1 Honours Political Science Major and Minors in Economics and Computer Science. This is his second year in JrP, and first on our executive team!

Jordan moved to Montréal from Markham, Ontario, and his mother is from Trinidad, and father from Italy.

A global issue he is passionate about is economic inequality, in his words,

“Hearing that some billionaires have net worths greater than the GDP of some small countries puts me in awe, especially when you consider that these people either acquired this wealth from their family or through taking advantage of other people. I believe this is very unfair and that by dealing with this issue many other issues can also be dealt with.”

“I believe that everyone, regardless of their background and identity, is entitled to an education. Unfortunately, women and girls ate victims of having this right taken away from them.

Emma is a U1 double major in Political Science and International Development. Before moving to Montréal for school, Emma lived in Toronto, Ontario.

Emma is passionate about fighting the global environmental crisis, and “in special regards to the role of big capitalist corporations. From the Amazon fires to the widespread need for many Chinese to live their lives behind anti-pollution masks, it’s clear that the harmful practices of corporate capitalism are some of the greatest contributors to accelerated environmental degradation.
